Performance Coaching

Direct access to our head junior coaches for individualized support to help juniors reach their goals around skills, fitness, race prep, plus access to our team trips, camps and race support.

We have experience supporting riders remotely and in-person so whether you live in Bend, Sisters, Redmond or Portland we can discuss if this would be a good fit for you.

Coaching takes many forms and our team of coaches offers a wide range of skills to help developing junior riders that we can discuss to make a plan just for you.

Options to discuss:

  • Individualized mountain bike skills assessment & progressive coaching sessions. In-person in Bend but we have also met riders in Oakridge, Portland and Hood River.
  • Access to our team camps, travel with us to races, or stay with us when you arrive.
  • Coaching and mechanical support for practice days at various enduro, xc and cyclocross races either regionally or at Nationals.
  • Train under our guidance with our “team training plan” or some riders may need an individualized training plan. Provided through TrainingPeaks for riders to follow on their own but check in regularly about progress and educational components. While you can follow the plan with just recording rides in a GPS computer it’s much more valuable to track heart rate and best to ride with a power meter to get the best level of support.

All of our junior coaches are SafeSport trained so we have certain protocols around one-on-one interactions that we can discuss. In general, these are more detailed than a half-day skills lesson directly from Cog Wild, but that is another option to get started or might be a good fit for certain riders.

Lev Stryker

A master skills-instructor, Coach Lev has been racing bikes and teaching for many years. He owns Cog Wild, is a PMBIA level 2 instructor, and loves making the time to ride with the enduro team each week.

Bill Warburton

Coach Bill loves teaching all aspects of racing and training. He writes our training plans for fitness, strength and coaches various groups each week. He has coached several riders to National podiums in various disciplines.
