Events / Trips / Camps
Day trips resumed the week of June 15 and info is emailed to current riders.
Recommended for Intermediate / Experienced Riders. Work with the same Coaches & Teammates across the season.
Mountain Bike Teams
These MTB Teams are focused on improving riding skills, overall strength & endurance, and bringing riders together as supportive teammates. Racing is optional so many high level riders join the team but choose not to travel much or race but they are fully dedicated to becoming the best cyclists they can be.
All Mountain Teams
Train on and off the bike for Enduro and other gravity-driven racing.
XC MTB Team
Training on and off the bike for endurance cross-country events.
Ages 10 – 18
Inviting non-racers who want to improve all aspects of their riding while learning from dedicated Coaches.
Cyclocross will look different in 2020 with no racing available we will be training for skills, having fun and exploring some great rides on drop-bar bikes. This is a very demanding and technical discipline that requires hard work but develops excellent bike handling, smarter tactics and more confident athletes.
Mix of rides & strength after school, then indoor spinning at Bowen Sports Performance once the daylight disappears.
Team Training & Traveling
Running April though Nationals in July, these MTB Teams are focused on improving riding skills, overall strength & endurance, and bringing riders together as supportive teammates. TrainingPeaks is an important tool for riders to keep their training history and gain insights from their rides. Available to XC & All MTN Team riders with their tuition.
Travel to Races
With racing on pause we are doing our own half-day and full-day trips on some weekends.
No camps under current COVID restrictions.
Strength Training Matrix
Strength training is very important for these reasons:
We focus on good technique and proper movement in all dimensions to help our riders become more athletic, move faster and easier and reduce your chance of overuse injury.
Pedaling a bike is typically thought of as an aerobic sport but the high demands of mountain biking mean that we must have excellent muscular endurance as well.
These are not tear-down workouts, we build up from our base and riders naturally progress as they learn more about their bodies. Movement > balance > strength > power.
