Fremont Trail & Map

Riding the Fremont Trail

The Fremont Trail is remote and for the truly adventurous mountain bikers. There are maps and routes to follow, but expect some route finding, creek crossing, and otherwise rugged trail routes. The Oregon Timber Trail has a segment through the Fremont Forest, of which a short section is shared below as a Ride With GPS route. For more information on the nature of the Fremont Trail, visit this National Forest Service page.

The Fremont Forest is a beautiful area. Expect scenic vistas, sweeping views, old high desert forests, and ancient history. The mountain bike trails are generally shared with hikers and horses, so exercise caution and be respectful of different trail users. And most importantly? Don’t leave this area without visiting Summer Lake Hot Springs, a rustic enclave of natural indoor and outdoor hot pools. A perfect way to ease your muscles after a challenging ride.

Cog Wild is a local expert on these trails, and we recommend joining us for our Fremont Forest tour to get the most out of your mountain biking experience in this region. Check out what we have to offer here!
