Imagine heading out on bucolic country roads, pedaling under the shade of towering ponderosas, past fragrant sage brush, curling junipers and snow capped peaks to arrive at an agricultural oasis for a farm fresh lunch. Drink a glass of wine, tour the farm, and realize you have arrived at the perfect day on this farm to table cycling tour.
Cog Wild marries our love of cycling with our passion for sustainability on this road cycling tour that follows the Sisters to Smith Rock scenic bikeway. We will start in historic Sisters, Oregon to pedal along quiet country roads with mountain vistas and iconic ranch land to arrive at Rainshadow Organics farm for lunch. They are a self sufficient full-diet farm with dozens of varieties of certified organic vegetables, herbs, berries, flowers, and grains on 80 acres as well as pasture-raised, non-gmo fed pork, chicken, eggs, turkeys, and beef. Enjoy the scenery and relax with a cold local beer or drinking shrub with a nourishing meal and short tour of the grounds before we hit the road again.
The second half of our ride takes us further east alongside a fluffy alpaca farm, cool and clear watering hole and teeming wildlife sanctuary before arriving at the iconic Smith Rock. Admire the monolithic features as you pedal the last few miles into the park where we will have time to celebrate the end of the ride and to take in the geologic masterpiece that is Smith Rock.
