Details
Friday: We begin the first point-to-point ride with a short climb up a double-track road at Bennett Pass. We will ascend straight into the deep forest on the eastern flanks of Mt. Hood. When we reach the top at Gunsight Ridge, the single-track will be waiting patiently as you take photos of the breathtaking views of Mt. Hood. Get ready for some fun, twisty switchbacks because the descent has enough turns to fulfill any trail riding junkie. The long to the east fork of the Hood River finishes the ride. After a quick drive to our first camp, we will enjoy dinner by the campfire which is usually fresh salmon caught in the Columbia River.
Mileage: 15 miles

Saturday Option 1: This epic singletrack loop is called Fifteen-mile Creek loop, however the ride is actually 17 miles or more if you go for the bonus option at the end. After an energizing breakfast we will ride straight from camp and bomb down a long, fun descent. Be prepared for some of the most technical riding on the trip. Your permanent smile from the exhilarating downhill might turn into a concentrated grimace for the intense climb, up to the aptly named, High Prairie. We will climb to approximately 6400’. After our hard work we will be rewarded with another fun, flowing descent that brings us back to camp for a second evening of great food and campfire stories.
Mileage: 17-25 miles

Saturday Option 2: Today we ride our second point-to-point from Fifteen-mile camp to the Five Mile Butte Lookout Tower. If you like smooth, flowing trails, the singletrack on this ride is exactly what you are looking for. On a section of long downhill, a Cog Wild guide said: “I didn’t brake or pedal for two miles!” We are finishing up at the lookout tower at 4600’, so be prepared for a good leg burner at the end of the ride. With more outstanding views along the trail and at the end of the ride, there will be plenty of chances to stop and take in the beauty of the Mt. Hood National Forest.
Mileage: 9-16 miles

Sunday: Wake up to an amazing sunrise on top of Five Mile Butte. With views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson and Mt. Adams, this may be the best breakfast spot in the world! Today's ride starts with a loop around the Butte. The descent off of Five Mile Butte to Bottle Prairie will set the tone of the day: Extreme Fun. The trails along the loop have some fast, flowing sections with water-bar jumps, some tight and twisty sections with banked turns, and even a few ‘freeride’ style stunts for the uninhibited. After lunch we will end our tour with a 13-mile decent that will leave everyone giddy. Starting at 4600’ and ending at 2000’, this is a great way to end our weekend together! We will return to Bend, arriving late in the evening tired from three great days of riding.
Mileage: 26 miles
